FirstPlan Blue Members have direct access to OB-GYN providers without a referral for the following services: annual preventive health exam, including follow-up exams that your doctor says are necessary; maternity care; evaluation and treatment for gynecologic conditions or emergencies. To get the “direct access” services, you must go to a provider in the FirstPlan Blue network. For services labeled as “open access,” you can go to any doctor, clinic, hospital, pharmacy, or family planning agency.
